FPOP1 Taking Pictures
7" single 'Fallen Angel' b/w 'Trying Hard Not To Lose My Sanity'

'Count those bizarre, mid-song tempo changes. Taking Pictures sound like an acoustic, spastic Velvet Underground giving a piggy-back ride to Iggy Pop. The vocalist growls like an effeminate Lou Reed, and the middle section is possibly the most fantastic slice of free-form atonal abandon since heaven knows when. By contrast, the B-side is a dewy-eyed lullaby buried under ten square miles of tape hiss and home-demo ambience. This is art-folk indie verité, and as twisted as a sentimental murderer.' Record Collector

'The first release from Fortuna Pop! is "Fallen Angel" by Taking Pictures. The title track is quite strange pop with spoken vocals. The B-side is also strange pop but in a different way to "Fallen Angel". Strange yes, but nice strange, not going-out-of-your-way-to-be-quirky strange.' Bliss Fanzine

'The sound of young Kegworth.' John Peel
